Dear (contact name),

(Personal message)

I'm writing this letter because I wanted to tell you a little bit about CyborgCamp and an opportunity for (company name) to be associated with a lineup of innovative, groundbreaking companies that support pushing the boundaries of new media in a new economy of dynamic change and exchange. CyborgCamp is a conversation about the future of technology, and how humans fit in. Conference attendees generally discuss topics such as social media, design, code, inventions, Web 2.0, Twitter, the future of communication, cyborg technology, anthropology, psychology, and philosophy. Attendees are usually highly engaged in their fields and are major contributors to their local communities.

History: CyborgCamp was founded with the idea that many people interested in traditional business, new media, education, and entrepreneurship could come together to discuss a future that is increasingly uncertain and transitory. I also wanted to have a conference that could teach people the skills that would gain them some advantage in the new economy (Wiki's, RSS feeds, online collaboration, seo, knowledge and network resources). Having support from an innovative and impressive company such as Aboutus.org would be a perfect fit for the conference attendees (as well as those attending online).

Topics: CyborgCamp will cover a wide variety of topics. Speakers will include interaction designers, developers, other technology experts. There will be additional speakers as well as unconference sessions that deal with the future of entertainment, business, social media, and the relationship between humans and computers. Some of the sessions will extend ideas associated with WhereCamp, a Portland conference on geolocation.

The entire event will be live Tweeted, blogged, and filmed, and will provide a valuable resource to businesses and educators alike.

Location, Date, Details: The third CyborgCamp will be held 9am-6pm, Saturday, October 2nd, 2010 at Webtrends (http://www.webtrends.com/) in Portland, OR. We also plan to stream all sessions of CyborgCamp live to the Internet.

Sponsor Levels: $500-1000 - (large logos, inclusion in all promotional materials and website, verbal thank you at the beginning, middle, and end of the conference -- sponsor representatives get 5 minute speech at the event) $250-500 - (small logos, inclusion in all promotional materials and website, verbal thank you at the beginning, middle, and end of the conference)

Sponsor Visibility: CyborgCamp sponsors will be promoted on all camp materials, websites and social networking streams. Each sponsor will also have an opportunity during the camp to talk about their business in relation to cyborg culture. Sponsors at the top level ($500) will be the focus of a special CyborgCamp session on cyborg business analysis (led by Amber Case and Nate Angell) and receive a documented cyborg analysis of their business.

Attendees: We are planning for 100 registered attendees, but expect more. Likely CyborgCampers will be technology professionals, academics and artists with interests in cyborgia from Cascadia (BC, OR, WA) and beyond. You can see a preliminary list of attendees on the CyborgCamp wiki (http://portland.cyborgcamp.org/wiki) and Upcoming event listing (http://upcoming.yahoo.com/event/5658275/OR/Portland/CyborgCamp-2010-A-Conference-of-the-Future-of-Humans-and-Technology/Webtrends/).

Pre-Party: We are organizing a before-party for the evening of Friday, October 1st which will include a special live, CyborgCamp edition broadcast of the Strange Love Live podcast (http://strangelovelive.com).

Payment Information: Your contribution will go to fund the ingredients that will make CyborgCamp a success, including the venue, audio-visual equipment and food and refreshments. Attendees will also pay a $10 registration fee to help cover CyborgCamp costs (namely food). While you and anyone from your team can attend for free, you will still have to register for the event.

Thanks again for your interest. We look forward to seeing you at CyborgCamp!

Sincerely,

Amber Case Founder, CyborgCamp caseorganic@gmail.com
